Q: Why can't we find a substitute for boniva in foreign countriesS?
What do people take in foreign countries who have no big drug companies selling expensive boniva?
A: The reason is because the medication is still too new. When the patent gets ready to run out or close to running out (which will be in about 17 years) then they will start making a generic available.
But also check with the health department of the country that you live in because the laws may be a bit different for that country.
Q: does Boniva and other drugs for Osteoporosis really grow dead bone?
I have heard that it merely calcifies on bone is this true?
A: Actually those advertised medications have never been clinically studied to aid in bone strength...but the side effects can really cause problems
Q: What are the natural alternative treatments to inherited bone loss disease. My friend is taking Boniva and?
her joints hurt terribly and she said she is in anguish. The doctor said the Boniva is supposed to build new bone but the pain is too great.
A: Have you tried some 'BioSil'? It is a new product, I only just started to take it but is suppose to help. I also take 'MSM' for the arthritis and 'SleepSense' to help relax the muscles and help me sleep at night. These are all natural and are not addictive. so they can not hurt to give them a try.
Q: Is there a medicine similar to Boniva, which is for Osteoporosis, that is available in the market in China?
If there are none, can anyone make a suggestion as to affective osteoporosis medicine that might be found in Asia? This could be life-saving! Pease, any suggestions will be taken into consideration. Thank you.
A: The prescription medications most similar to Boniva in the U.S. are Fosamax (alendronate) and Actonel (risendronate) these should be easer to find than Boniva, and should be available in China (if Boniva is). Beware of fakes in China, however... there is a big market for conterfeit meds and China and India are common countries of origin. If you have no luck finding them, there are other options- such as Fortical (calcitonin nasal spray) and estrogens. Keep in mind the brand names are probably different in other countries, so go by the generic name (in parenthesis).
Q: What kind of dog is it in the Boniva commercial with Sally Fields?
I would just like to know the name of the breed because my mom had a dog like that growing up, but she can't figure out the breed name.
A: I believe it is an English Shepherd,or a "Farm Collie," which is more of a type of dog than a purebred,a mix of Rough Collie,Border Collie and other herding breeds. It's a beautiful dog.

Q: Why can't I drink flavored water with Fosamax or Boniva?
The instructions say to drink only plain water but I can't find an explanation saying why. I hate plain water and could take the medicine (for osteoporosis) better if I could drink flavored water.
A: Well why cant you? You need more details in your question. Sorry without more details i cant answer it.
Q: What about intravenous Boniva for bone loss?

Q: Boniva-I have been taking it for 2 months. My muscles and joints hurt alot. Does anyone else have this problem?
I don't know if the pain is connected to the Boniva, but it seems to have happened at the same time. As I only take this once a month, I won't take the next dose. Will the pain go away? I really would like to hear from someone if you have the same problem. Thanks
A: I have heard of Boniva but never used it, but with what I have heard about it I have not heard of this being a side effect of the medication. However, I would recommend getting a hold of your doctor in the morning to let them know what's going on.
Q: What could you do on you own to treat the side effects of Boniva(for osteoporosis)?
A: Depends what the side effects are.
If it is GI upset after taking it - I would take the pill with a FULL glass of water and then sit up or stand for 45minutes.
If it is something else, then I would talk to your doctor

I know that is not a answer but if that is the only thing that you have taken different or had different and it has affected your cholesterol levels well yes properly. I just hope things get better for you. Can you get something else to take at all? Take care.

Q: Is that Sally Fields in the Boniva tv commercial?
She sure looks like and talks like Sally Fields.
A: It sure is! The source link will take you to a full press release from GlaxoSmithKline, the makers of Boniva.:
Q: How does Boniva compare to Fosamax?
A: Both Boniva and Fosamax belong to the same drug class.
This means they share similar actions and side effects to a large extent.
However, boniva has an advantage of being taken once monthly rather than weekly like Fosamax, which makes compliance easier for patients.
Whereas it shares most of the precautions, contra-indications and side effects of the Fosmax.
Please, make sure to check with your doctor before switching form one of them to the other.
