Q: hey i need the cheapest university in america or canada for an international student?
hey can any one please list for me the names of the cheapest universities that have pharmacy or architectural engineering majors in the states or canada for an international student ... not more than 16000 $ a year ....
including a room in the campus
A: Maybe you can start your studies at a community college for the first two years and then transfer to the university. In this way you could save money at the beginning and use it for the next years. Otherwise, 16,000/year might not be enough anywhere (does this amount include living expenses?). Try to choose a place with a good university but not so high cost of living. Good luck!
Q: What international course work or degree would knock off prequisites for Pharm D?
What college work or degree from Pakistan would knock off prerequistes for Pharmacy?
I was under the assumption that Higher secondary certification would suffice but, I am confused.
A: First, most schools do not accept international students. Some of the ones which do, require all pre-reqs be taken in the U.S. You have to take the same pre-reqs as everyone else. They are listed on their webpages. The true trick will be taking the PCAT because I don't think it is offered outside of the U.S. and Canada.
Q: Can i go to a pharmacy in Mexico without a script and get vicodin?
I am writing a thesis on the availability of said drug and having never been to Mexico, you'll understand the question. In no way am i cunducting illegal smuggling of contraband across international borders or attempting to do so in the future.
A: Yes you can. You can buy anything legally (without script) except class II narcotics.
Q: Certified Pharmacy Technician, would i need to get re-certified if i move to another country like chile?
I am taking an accredited course for pharmacy tech (goal is to become a pharmacist and i already have my AA Degree and working towards my Bachelors). I'm here in california, and i have looked at the National Association Boards of Pharmacy...the thing is it's only national ...i do see that there are other countries like canada, New Zealand and Australia, but i don't see anything else that mentions international Pharmacy technician. Can anyone help?
A: yes...
Q: How does it feel studying in the United States of America? How do you study Pharmacy or Medicine there?
I'm from the Philippines and I'm interested to study in the U.S. I have been searching for schools that offer Medicine courses and it confuses me because some say that we have to pick our own courses. Is that how it really should be? How could I get scholarships or sponsorships? Could you recommend any Medicine school for international students? Thank you!
A: they give you certain classes that you need to take and some you can choose on your own. I guess schools are the same wherever. I know some good medicine schools are UCLA and Johns Hopkins. You could get a scholarship in the Phillipines, it'll probably work here.
Q: Doctor of Pharmacy in the United States?
I'm currently in my first year at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I'm interested in pursuing a PharmD degree in the US. Which universities are good? What kind of GPA are they looking for? Do they accept international transfer students?
A: try here
Q: downside of international pharmacies?
WHAT ABOUT THE DRUG PURITY FROM MEXICO & INDIA?
A: You can't be assured of the quality or if you are getting the real thing. How were those medications manufactured and stored? Are they counterfeit or repacked expired medications or degraded? The USA have extremely tough regulations and controls as well as the State Boards of Pharmacy in protecting the public. I know the medications are cheaper in the other countries but I think your health and safety outweighs the financial cost savings unless you really know what you are getting.
Q: Does anyone know how the drugs Soma and Vicodin compare to each other?
I know Soma is a muscle relaxant but does it do the same thing as vicodin? All the online international pharmacies that ive seen dont offer vicodin, but soma is always on there. im just curious about the similarities and the differences between the two.
A: Soma (Carisoprodol) is a muscle relaxant and Vicodin is a narcotic pain reliever. Therefore, they are in two diffferent drug classes.
Some doctors will prescribe Soma to increase the effects of Vicodin or other narcotic pain relievers. Taking the two together can cause serious health problems.
Q: I am an international pharmacist in USA, who wants to pursue his old dream of becoming MD , any advice, how ?
I have bachelor degree in pharmacy from another country, and I dont' know which pathway I should take to join school of medicine. and how long it would take me ?
A: You have almost zero chance of being admitted to a USA School of Medicine for an MD or DO.
You have perhaps a small but reasonable chance of being accepted into a PA (Physician Assistant) program.
ADDED
"He is wrong, you could do it. Schools of Medicine do take people with international degrees."
Sigh... Pedantry again...
You could theoretically be accepted into a School of Medicine, but also you could also be hit by a meteorite tomorrow morning...
It's not clear whether you are a USA Citizen or legal resident. If you are neither, the school-by-school list below shows that the odds are stacked heavily against you.
If you are a citizen/green card holder, you are still seriously handicapped. The problem is not you so much you, as it is your competition. Competitive Medical School candidates in the USA have many years of being top performers. It is very difficult to persuade a Med School Admissions Committee that they should choose you instead of one of these other top candidates. Some practical problems:
1) Many schools insist pre-med courses should be taken in a USA school and/or within five years, and pre-med courses taken elsewhere must be very equivalent to USA courses.
2) You must do very well in the TOEFL. Medical Schools (and as you know pharmacy licensing boards with the FPGEE) were burned in the past by admitting candidates with poor English language skills. The requirements now are much tougher than they used to be.
3) How does your foreign GPA compare to USA Med School candidate GPAs? Foreign GPAs are often much lower.
4) How well would you do in the MCAT exam? It appears you have been out of school many years. You need a top score in an exam even native USA citizens find difficult.
5) How old are you? Much past 35 means Med Schools will be reluctant to take you.
In short: Yes it is "possible" for you to be admitted into a USA Medical School, but the ugly reality is that it is probably not going to happen...
Q: I'm an international student want to attend graduate school, how can i get a financial aid,?
where can i get a finanicial aid for my pharmacy or health related graduate school in thr U.S?
A: Generally, there's very little financial aid out there for international students. Federal financial aid is saved for American citizens, permanent residents, etc. However, I do know though that Sallie Mae does give loans to international students. Here's the website for Sallie Mae. look under "Getting a Loan - Finding Loans to Help You Pay" (the blue column):
http://www.salliemae.com/
Here's another website that has info on financial aid for international students:
http://www.edupass.org/finaid/
Also, go through the links here for more sources:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=financial+aid+-+international+students
While you're researching options, be aware of loan interest rates that are too high. Also, try to find scholarship opportunities for international students. Go through these links here:
http://www.google.com/search?num=20&hl=en&safe=off&q=scholarships+-+international+students&btnG=Search
Be careful though and think twice if a webiste wants to charge you for scholarship information. It might be a scam. Don't pay money to find money.
Good luck.
Q: searching for online Pharmacy for multivitamins ship to Israel?
I search for a serious online Pharmacy like VitaSprings, from whom I baught in the past Multivitamins, to be shipped to Israel regular flight but that company requires to give details of credit card without adding shipping costs, and by email they inform after the purchase which is the total cost .
I should know before I enter my credit card details the total cost including shipping. Otherwise check it and revert the total cost to put effective the order.
There are some online pharmacies but they don't send to Israel or international at all.
Please revert to Isaac Klein >> isiv@netvision.net.il
A: I wouldn't buy anything from an online pharmacy, but I think you are correct that you should not give a credit card number without knowing the TOTAL amount to be charged first.
Q: Where I can buy Baytril 100 injectables that ship international likely to Asia?
Majority pet pharmacies online in the US they don't ship internationally. Anything will help. Thanks
A: try in one of the pharmacies where you live...
or maybe someplace nearby where they do get shipped to
--sorry i couldn't help more!..:(
Q: I want to change my major to Pharmacy from Economics. I don't know how to start and what to do. Please I need
I am in America as international student
A: It's easy, in most cases you just need to go see a counselor or academic advisor and ask them what steps you need to take in changing you major. In some cases it's as simple as changing it on a supplimental enrollment form, or application. But it depends on your school. But I'd start by talking to a counselor or advisor, because they can normally point you in the right direction.

Q: Pharmacy 0-6 program / University of Texas austin, Rutgers?
I'm currently senior in international school in Asia
I'm planning to go to pharmacy 0-6 program in the States
I'm particularly interested in Rutgers and UT austin
I did tremendous amount of research and i can't get a grasp of UT austin
The report from AACP says that it UT is a part of 0-6 program but it also says that students are not guaranteed to be accepted to Pharmacy program if there are not enough seats for students or the dean denies it.
Does anybody know that what is the percentage of student who got into 0-6 program in UT to go to Pharmacy school?
And How hard is to get in to UT Austin 0-6 program? Specifically SAT GPA and other stuffs..
Currently I got 3.82 for GPA and 5 AP’s (four 5’s and one 4). By the time I finish the high school I will have about 10 AP’s. I hope to get more than 2100 for SAT (Currently I got 2050).
What is my chance to get into that school?
MY POINT? 1) Could somebody tell me more about UT Austin 0-6 pharmacy program?
2) Does anybody know that what is the percentage of student who got into 0-6 program in UT to go to Pharmacy school?
3)What are my chance to get into that school?
4) Is Rutgers or UT Austin better? And which is harder?
