Q: Is there a place NOT to put steroid cream?
I was prescribed Elocom (steroid cream) for my eczema. It is affected on random areas of my body (NEAR my reproductive system as well) Is there a place not suitable to apply this low-potent sterioid cream?

Q: do i have heat rash?
There is a red rash seems to be on my under arm theres no bumps or anything just the rash what can i use to clear it up or can i use mometasone furoate cream (elocom cream )as it is in a difficult area with me using nivea deodorant

A: you can use the cream it is a rash but it just depends on what kind you have it on your underarm its probably from your deoderant . you should stop using that kind and then see what happens then. if it doesnt go away then it must be a rash

Q: Does african black soap make your acne purge during the first couple days?
I have really really bad acne. It all started when i was about 14 (I'm 19 now) but back then it was just a few pimples here and there. When i turned 17 or 18, it became worse. It was all over my face but still manageable from time to time. When i turned 19, It was already unbearable. I think some people consider it as moderate acne? I went to my family doctor and he subscribed me some benzoyl peroxide, but it was too harsh for my skin so it made me break out more. He then got me on minocin for about a month an a half. I had no results so I stopped, and started using cetaphil cleanser and elocom cream to calm down the itchiness I got from the benzoyl peroxide. My skin slowly started to get better. It didnt fully get clear, but I could easily cover it with make up and look presentable. Towards the end of December, I started noticing that my acne was coming back much more rapidly this time. I have read reviews about minocin that it does clear you up, but only for a certain time and it will come back a lot worse than it was in the beginning. I don't know if that's the case but right now my face is full of acne. There are no more clear skin on my face. Every corner has acne even to the bottom of my eyebrows. My sister, who loves the african black soap, has been using it for several months now, maybe even almost a year. Her face has been clear even since. But she didn't have acne as bad as mine. Hers was only a couple pimples here and there. She told me to try it because it really does work. I started using the african black soap yesteray (jan 7), but today my skin feels a lot worse. I think my acne is either purging, or the african black soap just doesn't work and it's making my acne worse. I'm using it with a cucumber toner from Khiels and Shea butter to moisturize. Does african black soap make your acne purge during the first couple days? Help me :(

A: I sometimes develop cystic acne, especially along my jaw line. During my last breakout, I massaged some african black soap just in that area and the cysts dissolved within 3 days. Now, whenever I feel a cyst beginning to develop, I massage a little black soap into the spot and in a couple of days, the problem has been solved. I do not use the soap over my entire face because it tends to dry out my skin.

A: i think it does but i would just use oxy it works better

A: I wished I had the solution for you. Even tho I don't have it, my brother does and he has been battleing it since he was 15, he is now 33. I do know the sun is the best thing for it, at least it has helped my brother a lot. He has it reall y really bad all over his body, his gets so bad it bleeds and he has it on the bottom of his feet. He uses crutches some times to help him walk. Since it isn't possible for my brother to be in the sun 24/7, he goes tanning and that seems to work better then laying/being out in the sun. Maybe you could try a tanning bed? I always want to say, don't be embarrassed by it, I know that it is easy to say. My brother is also embarrassed by it and wears long sleeve shirts when it is 100degrees here. No one looks at him differently, we don't think anything of it really....neither does his wife or little girls.

Q: Scar help!?
I have really red scars on my legs, and i need your help to try to lighten them before the end of june possibly!! I have tea tree oil and elocom cream, but i'm not old enough to get any prescription stuff without parental consent, and for reasons i wont explain, i cant get my parents help. I've heard of different natural ways with fruit and stuff, but i dont have much fruit, because our family just isnt that healthy, so that's limited too. I only have a small grocery store in the town i live in because it's so small, so if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated!! Possibly by thursday at the LATEST, because im leaving. hope i didnt confuse anyone, please help, im desperate!! I think I might be able to get my hands on some vitamin e cream though, btw.

Q: Neck DArkness?
MY body is fair, but the neck area is darker, i went to the doctor to tell them, iv been given a cream called, ELOCOM. while iv ben using it i have seen a diffrnce in colour however now iv stoped using it, the neck area has became the same. ??? What can i use to make the darkness on my neck go.?

A: I would recommend consulting a dermatologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders of the skin) as well if you haven't already to see what they think could be going on to cause this dark coloring on your neck.

A: As with all corticosteroids, the cream can weaken the immune system of the area where you applied it. For this reason, do not apply the cream to anywhere on your body where you have an open wound. Also, when you use the cream, you inevitably absorb some of the medication through your skin and into the bloodstream. Too much absorption can lead to unwanted side effects elsewhere in the body. To keep this problem to a minimum, avoid using large amounts of cream over large areas, and do not cover it with airtight dressings such as plastic wrap or adhesive bandages unless specifically told to by your doctor. Minor side effects: Burning; flushing; itching; redness; second infection; skin thinning and discoloration; swelling; tingling/stinging; wasting of the skin. Long term usage of corticosteroids may cause Cushing's syndrome. Symptoms include: Acne, depression, excessive hair growth, high blood pressure, humped upper back, insomnia, moon-faced appearance, muscle weakness, obese trunk, paranoia, stretch marks, stunted growth (in children), susceptibility to bruising, fractures, and infections, wasted limbs

Q: Severe eczema?
I've had severe eczema since I was born (going on 23 years) and it hasn't cleared up at all. Its starting to get worse since its summer and harder becuase I feel that I can't wear shorts and tank tops out, I'm very self conscious, on top of that my skin is so thin (from all the cortisone creams/oints) that I have stretch marks on my arms, lower abdomen, and thighs but I'm not THAT heavy . I've tried a million and one things to no avail, I was just wondering if anyone had any hidden secrets or tips to help me out. I've tried: -a dermatologist -UV treatment -many creams (hydrocortisone, elocom, fucidin, a new mixture a pharmacist recommended: betaderm, menthol and lidocaine (which is the best so far, too bad I only started about a year ago), protopic and more -homeopath/naturopath -acupuncture -doak oil baths Any suggestions!? Maybe a few remedies for strech marks if you know any.
