Q: Can a spiriva inhaler be used for ecstasy?
I heard of people snorting them for stronger effects or even putting them up their butt for longer, stronger effects but wouldn't a spiriva inhaler put it right in my lungs where it would go into my blood stream. And thank you in advance to those who tell me not to do drugs I appreciate your input.
A: If it contains levmethamphetamine and camphor oil, yes. If it's menthol, even better.
Q: Does anyone else take Spiriva for asthma?
I have asthma and until recently taken advair and spiriva and singulair for the asthma. I quit the advair and singulair due to weight gain. I currently am taking just the spiriva. Has anyone else had this happen?
A: Weight loss became a huge problem for me until I tried out acai berry. I realize they say that pills will not work, nevertheless they sure worked for me, and they have been featured on CNN too. There is a free trial on at the moment at http://deluch.slimmingdietnow.info , give it a try, what have you got to lose?
Q: what stroke risk is associated with Spiriva?
A: "Based on data from these studies, preliminary estimates of the risk of stroke are eight patients per 1,000 patients treated for one year with Spiriva, and six patients per 1,000 patients treated for one year with placebo," states the FDA. "This means that the estimated excess risk of any type of stroke due to Spiriva is two patients for each 1,000 patients using Spiriva over a one-year period."
The FDA urges caution in interpreting the preliminary findings.
"Pooled analyses can provide early information about potential safety issues. However, these analyses have inherent limitations and uncertainty that require further investigation using other data sources," states the FDA. Boehringer Ingelheim and Pfizer agree with that, according to Boehringer Ingelheim's news release.
Boehringer Ingelheim advises patients to ask their doctors if they have questions about Spiriva treatment;
Q: i'm taking spiriva and seretide in the morning. HOw long should i wait to take seretide after taking spiriva?
A: I don't think it matters but you might want to look for the answer on the package inserts.
Q: What's the song on the Spiriva commercial? Listen to the link. Violin and piano.?
http://www.spiriva.com/consumer/index.jsp
Just click below the image on the right hand side.
A: I agree it is not classic music. I would say it is violin and keyboard rather than a classic piano. These guys:
http://www.primaryelements.com/html/services.html
have done another commercial for Spiriva, who knows if they are the authors of this one as well.
I have a good-ish knowledge of classic music and this piece doesn't quite fit. It could be an adaptation of a classic though.
Sorry not to be able to help more.
Q: Anyone taking spiriva for lung problems?
A: Yes, I take it for COPD, and works great for me. Really does make a difference in my breathing and I also use Advair with it.
Q: I have C.O.P.D. Are there any generic forms of Spiriva or Advair?
I take Spiriva once per day and Advair 500/50 twice per day. Also, I'm on O2 24/7, Albuterol nebs and inhaler. My insurance is paying about half and the cost is still high. I would like to live as long as possible but, I don't think I can afford it.
I smoked for 52 years and quit smoking 2 years ago.
A: I use Advair Diskus as well and know there is no generic available and how outrageously high your co-payment still is. But I did was went online to that drug manufacturers' site,
www.advair.com and registered and got regular $10 off coupons for Advair in the mail. It's been a while since I did it, so I can't remember much more, but it sure helped. Also, by using the coupons before they expired and answering a couple easy questions with a postage paid card, I even got incentives and a black leather pouch to keep my disk in. Cool. here's GlaxSmithKline's # too:
1-800-879-9505.
Q: What's the classical song in the Spiriva drug commercial?
A: I haven't seen that commercial. I'll have to check it out.
Q: can you use symbicort and spiriva together?
A: Advair and spiriva can be used together but you should really ask your doctor before you mix any medicine even if it's inhalers.
Q: What can asthmatics do for lingering chest tightness & soreness?
Had a severe attack last night - it's about 12 hours since and my chest is still really sore and kind of tight. It makes me feel weaker. I've taken all of my medicine (Advair, Singulair, Spiriva, Albuterol). Is this normal? How long will this last? What else can I do?
A: put some coffee in the coffee pot and let it start making coffee.
once it's done drink a little or breathe it in.
Coffee has a natural anti-histamine in it and it can help with asthma attacks and effects afterwards.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
P.S. if it last more than just today you need to call your doctor.
Q: My husband has acute bronchitis and emphysema. What is the right medicines he can take to get rid of these?
His doctor has given him Albuterol Inhilation for 4 years and now with Spiriva handihaler. The first 15 days he took this 2nd prescription (sample) every morning, he slept nicely at bed time. When we started buying it from the pharmacy there is no effect to him. He has to inhale more often this Albuterol instead of using this for emergency.
he's not smoking after his first breathing problem close to 5 years ago and he was rushed to the emergency. This is why he was given albuterol, combivent & atrovent. The last two was changed with spiriva.
A: Make sure you talk to your doctor and explain what is going on.. Only a doctor can make the call on what is needed... but you might want to ask if your husband would benefit from using prednisone and Flovent... Flovent is also a inhaler that you use with the Albuteral and prednisone really helped my husband and I when we had breathing problems... you really need to get the doctor to get him on the right meds and dosage... If you don't think you are getting the correct treatment.. see a different doctor.. it never hurts for a second opinion... :)
Q: can i use advair and spiriva togeather ?
A: According to Spiriva's website, yes. Spiriva is a different type of long-acting bronchodilator than the one found in Advair (which is a combination of a steroid (reduces swelling) and another long-acting bronchodilator (stops the twitchiness)).
While Spiriva's website says this is OK, I'd still recommend you make sure you have your personal physician's approval. Only your physician knows all of your medical history, which might include something that contra-indicates one or both of these medications.
If your doctor has prescribed both, I'd say that Spiriva's concurring findings would indicate it's fine.
The only drug Spiriva advises against using simultaneously is Atrovent, which is not found in Advair.
Hope this helps. :o)
Q: What is Spiriva HandiHaler?
A: What is Spiriva:
SPIRIVA® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) is a once-a-day regular (maintenance) treatment for bronchospasm (airway narrowing) associated with a breathing problem called Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. SPIRIVA helps open your airways for a full 24 hours to help you breathe easier all day, every day. It is not a rescue medicine and should not be used to quickly catch your breath when symptoms suddenly get worse.
It works by:
SPIRIVA may make it easier to breathe by helping to relax the muscles in the airways inside your lungs. SPIRIVA helps to open narrow airways and helps keep them open for 24 hours. This allows more air to move in and out of your lungs.
Q: How long will it take for chest pain to go away after having bronchitis if you're asthmatic?
Over a week ago I came down with bronchitis. Went to the doctor and got an antibiotic and cough medicine. Cough diminished 3 days ago and I rarely cough now, but I constantly have chest pain - feels like I'm carrying weights on my chest.
I'm also asthmatic and have been keeping up with my daily med's (Advair, Singulair, Spiriva and Albuterol).
Went back to the doctor yesterday because I feel worse: aches, trouble breathing and massive chest pain. She said she still heard wheezing and she gave me Methylprednisolone.
Has anyone ever experienced this before with bronchitis? How long will it take until the chest pain goes away?
A: Have been there many times. I can take up to 8 weeks if the bronchitis was bad. Sounds like it is. Everyone is different. You are doing the right thing by keeping your doctor informed. Remember to drink plenty of water with the Methylprednisolone. :) Will help greatly. Good luck, hope you feel better soon. REST!!
Q: Benifits of Spiriva Inhalers?
A: Spiriva is similar to Atrovent, and was first distributed in this country after March 31, 2003. It might work better for asthma than for COPD - it didn't work well for me. As my doc said, there's only one way to find out if it will benefit you. Good luck.
