Q: My son was taking asmanex and carbatrol , I have read on web md that should not take together is it true?
my son died within 30 mins. of taking asmanex. It was his first and only dose. I need to know if there has been a major mistake made on someones part.

A: According to drugs.com, there are no known or confirmed interactions between these two drugs. I would speak to a physician or pharmacist for more information.

Q: How do I use the Asmanex Twisthaler?
Having trouble getting it to work. After you twist off the cap and the doses left count decreases, what do you do after that?

A: 1. Open the Inhaler Hold the inhaler upright with the base (pink) on the bottom Grip the base and twist the cap (white) counterclockwise while keeping the inhaler in an upright position As the cap is lifted off, the dose counter counts down by one (the arrow on the white mouthpiece should point to the dose counter) 2. Inhale Dose Before inhaling your ASMANEX, exhale fully Firmly close your lips around the mouthpiece and take a fast, deep breath while holding the mouthpiece in a horizontal position Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for 10 seconds (or as long as you comfortably can) Replace the cap and twist it clockwise until it clicks (The cap must be fully closed to load the next dose) Check to make sure that the arrow is lined up with the dose counter

Q: Has anyone taken Asmanex and had side effects? Did you continue the meds or quit?
My feet swole up and ALL my joints became inflamed. I've been on 9 asthma meds...I doubt anything will help.

Q: My doctor prescribed Asmanex Twisthaler for laryngitis?
My doctor prescribed Asmanex Twisthaler for laryngitis..I was a little dismayed with this because the package insert said it was for asthma. I asked the pharmacist and he checked and couldn't find any information for it to be used for laryngitis. Have you ever heard of this? I haven't used it yet because it's a steroid and nothing I can find substantiates the use for laryngitis.

A: frankly if i were instead you i will first ask the doc why then if i wasn't convinced i would stop taking it may be he is making trial research for the company or have certain business with such company

Q: I'm taking Asmanex for a week and my blood pressure has gone up.?
This drug is for my bronchitis which has been going on for over a month. I have tried other prescriptions but to no avail. Since I have been on Asmanex, I noticed my blood pressure has gone up. Is this normal. I have noticed some improvement.

A: Hi - As an asthmatic, I can tell you that definitely, this is normal. I take many inhalers at various times of the year and it is quite common. You should just be sure to take it only as directed by your physician.

Q: Can I take Singular and Clarinex together along with Asmanex?

A: They are three separate classes of drugs ... one is is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor (Singulair). Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. The Clarinex is an antihistamine for allergies ... The Asmanex (Mometasone) is a steroid for antinflammatory relief .... I do not see any drug interactions that would limit you from taking these together ...
