Q: The anti estrogen drug Aromasin is causing alot of aches and pains?
My mother in law has been on anti estrogen drugs for a year, and changing from one to another, so far, all of them have caused her to have aches and pains all over her body. now on Aromasin, she is wondering is there is a way she can get over her side effects.

A: I have taken, another aromatase inhibitor, for almost five years now following my treatment for breast cancer - next month will be my last. I had aches, pains and stiffness for a while. I found that most of the pains, and the night cramps I had, disappeared gradually after the first year or so; the joint stiffness and has never gone away completely, but has lessened considerably. The first several months were the worst - I remember having to hold on to things to walk when I got out of bed in the morning - and the only thing that kept me taking it was knowing that it was reducing my chance of recurrence I know everybody's reaction is different, but maybe your m-i-l's symptoms will also lessen over time. I'm sorry, I know I'm not much help and I hope someone comes along who can advise you

Q: What Should a person with breastcancer IV take after tamoxifen and aromasin. Femara or Faslodex?

A: It depends on whether or not you are pre or post menopausal as well as other factors. It seems like many women are just "left in the breeze" with no medication after their successful 5 year course of Tamoxifen though, and if the cancer rears it's ugly head again or a new cancer is found, the lab work on the cells from the new development would need to be done before anything could be prescribed. I hope that you are NED after 5 years of Tamoxifen and can go into the "careful vigilance" mode.

Q: Aromasin a new drug for breast cancer is there steriod in it?
Would this new drug make you put on weight as i have been on Tamoxifen and Arimidex and they both have the side effects gaining weight I have been told by the Dr that Aromasin and are much the same and i shall just be staying on it for my five years in total

A: It has its own website www.aromasin.com Loads of info, how it works, side effects etc... hopefully you'll find an answer there.

Q: will taking aromasin and herceptin make your hair fall out?

A: NO, neither of these medication causes hair loss. Hair loss for cancer patients is associated with radiation therapy and chemotherapy, not adjuvant treatments such as Aromasin and Herceptin. Learn more about these medications by visiting their websites.

Q: Taking aromasin.Wbc is lower than last year. Now 2.5. Can you give me any help?

A: This would not be a common problem with aromasin. i would want to know about any other meds, prescription or otherwise; alcohol use; evidence for b12 or folic acid deficiency; any other symptoms?.... Has it been rechecked? Transient suppression of white count is common for many reasons. Blessings

Q: For any FTM transexual or bodybuilder who is familiar with aromasin?
Aromasin is an estrogen blocker. Has anybody ever tried this, and what effect did it have on you? Did you get hairier? Did your buttocks become smaller and trimmer? Im a 22 year old male with a lot of fat in my butt and thighs and small hands and feet and a high pitched voice and boy like face and im suspicious that I have too much estrogen in me. I hate this and would love to just look like a regular straight up&down male.

A: Why would a male need an estrogen blocker? What doctor in his right mind would prescribe this to you? If you believe you have a hormone imbalance see an endocrinologist. Otherwise you just have to work harder in the gym.

Q: i take aromasin after having breast cancer. can i donate bloood?

Q: Where can I buy Aromatase Inhibitors (Arimidex, Aromasin, Femara) in India?
Needed for my mother, aged 80 years, who has undergone Total Mastactomy of Left Breast. She is in good health, ER Positive, Tumor Size 8 cm, Lymph Nodes not affected, had Medullary & Colloidal Carcoma, Clean margins,

A: U should get a prescription from an Oncologist. The aromatase inhibitors have certain side effects for which your grandmother needs to be evaluated. They can cause bone thinning, so u should also give calcium supplements along with a weekly tablet called Osteophos. Otherwise they are available in Medical stores. But please consult with u r treating doctor and start.

Q: Why does everyont think that steroids will make a guys penis shrink or get smaller? NOT TRUE!
Why does everyone think that a guys penis will shrink if he takes steroids?? SERIOUSLY. When you take steroids, you are replacing your natural testosterone (endogenous) with steroids (exogenous). This causes your natural testosterone to shut down, and to eventually stop producing any. Its a part of HOMEOSTASIS. Your body balances it out. This results in increased estrogen as well since testosterone aromatizes to estrogen. IF you do not take a proper ancillary (aromasin) to control your estrogen levels, you will lose some sensitivity to your penis. If you DONT TAKE HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) along with the exogenous test (steroids) then your BALLS will shrink, since that is where you normally and naturally produce testosterone, and now you arent. It does NOT affect the size of your penis!!!! Some people have "limp penis" from being shut down completly. Throw in some test and your good! HRT people - Hormone Replacement Therapy. Look it up! Steroids dont shrink your penis!!!!

A: whoever thinks that is wrong, because it's your balls that shrink

Q: What are the side effects when using SERMs or AIs?
If I were to use SERMs or AI, what are the side effects? SERMs= Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid), Tamoxifen (Nolvadex), Toremifene Citrate (Fareston), and Raloxifene hydrochloride (Evista). AIs=Anastrozole, Aromasin (Exemestane), and Letrozole (Femara). I hope I didn't need to write this, but no, I'm not going to use them at the same time. IF I decide to use something, I won't use a SERM with an AI, instead I'll aim to use them separately. I'll look into that, because if I CAN use both at the same time, I probably will aim for that. Toremifene: Some possible side effects include the risk of stroke, pulmonary embolism, and cataracts. Anybody with a serious answer? These aren't for any kind of performance, but more like keeping E levels down for example when you age, or when you use steroids. There are natural ways, I know, but are there any side effects IF I would use a SERM or AI? I'm here, I'll be giving out the Best Answer award, but all I need is to know of any possible side effects, if there are any at all. I'll still give out the BA if you mail me.(of course you still have to post something on my answer)

A: Do you have breast cancer? I took for five years. I can't imagine why anyone would want to take such a drug other than to do all they could to prevent recurrence or metasasis of a filthy, life-threatening disease. That some people take them to improve sporting performance beggars belief. ==== Edit: My answer is deadly serious. Still, you want the side effects of here they are: Stiff, aching joints. Hot flushes Hair thinning/loss. Insomnia Headaches Depression Weight gain. Tiredness and lethargy Those are the ones I had myself. The joint pain and stiffness was particularly severe, and that has been the case for almost every other user I've met through breast cancer support networks. The rest are side effects of that I personally didn't have. I know a number of breast cancer patients who had/have the first one though - two have oesteopenia: Loss of the mineral content of bones; risk of osteoporosis. Vaginal dryness Nausea, vomiting) and diarrhoea Headaches . Skin rashes Vaginal bleeding I chose Arimidex over Tamoxifen because the side effects were less horrific. Common Tamoxifen side effects include hot sweats, fatihue, joint pain, nausea. Every woman I know who had to take it gained weight. Less common side effects are depression and hair thinning. Rarer side effects are liver changes, eye problems and womb cancer. I had to take one of these drugs to help save my life. I wouldn't have touched them with a bargepole otherwise. Serious enough for you?
