Q: im trying to conceive, i have a high prolactin level and am on dostinex. does this affect my chances?
i have been trying to conceive and actually am getting pretty frustrated. i track my ovulation and am regular. does the medication i am on inhibit my chances? is there anything i can do or take to increase my chances with quick results?
A: One thing I can tell you is that I alos had high prolactin levels but i didn't take anything for it as it seemed to slightly lower on it's own. There was no issue with TTC since it happened when I least expected it!!
Mind you, I've had 3 miscarriages :( so I hope that has nothign to do with it either. Please talk to your dr about this, if you are serious about conceiving. I asked my dr if high levels would hinder conception, she said NO flat out.
Q: What year was the drug, dostinex, first made available for human use?
A: 1968
Q: I'm taking Dostinex, what is my percentage of become pregnant? Or what can do?
I been takeing Dostinex for 2 1/2 months is to lower my prolactin level & pituitary tumor. But I been trying to get pregnant for 5 years, what should I ask my endocronologist.
A: I love this question! I read in RedBook that swallowing after oral sex can help you conceive. I know you are probably skeptical, but... The article was written by a female OBGYN. The idea is to help you body get accustomed to your husband's sperm. Your body treats sperm like any other foreign substance in the body and will attack it. By ingesting the sperm your body may be less likely to attack it thereby increasing your chances of conception. Tell your husband he can thank me later. As far as I am concerned that is the finest article ever published in a women's magazine. I should have stolen it when I had the chance!
Q: Has anyone ever taken Dostinex, for high levels of Prolactin?
Side effects.
A: Side effects include:
nausea
headache
dizziness
constipation
weakness
The side effects were not that common, but they did occur in some individuals.
Q: Can I take vitamins with Dostinex...the generic form?
I am taking the generic form of Dostinex for a pituitary tumor (prolactinoma). Its not cancer. Anyways, I got some vitamins for women at a health store and I was wondering if it was ok to take them together. How about natural supplements to boost libido? Will this affect the medicine in any way?
A: If your taking any medications which could be a reason your libido is low, I wouldn't take anything else..Only take what you have too, you know? I had no sex drive and tried things to boost it but nothing worked until I found a natural herbal enhancer called Hersolution gel. It's great because I was on birth control and didn't want to take anymore pills then I had too, so the gel was a great thing to have considering you don't swallow it. Read up about it at herenhancement.com where I saved money on it at the time. Nothing works better and my libido is the best I've ever had it. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Q: Is it safe to take Dostinex and Imedeen at the same time?

Q: hyperprolactinemia dostinex any advice?
I suffered an ectopic pregnancy last yearfell pregnant first month trying.I never took any notice of my cycles before the pregnancy.Me and my husband decided to wait a year before ttc just started ttc again.I have recently visited my gyn as since my operation periods have been 35-44days.I have been diagnosed today with hyperprolactinemia(high prolactin)the doctor is going to put me on dostinex.I have herd it will get me pregnant quickr is this true?
The years wait is over its a year ago this month we had our pre conception check up and found this high pro lactin the gyn is putting me onto dostinex.Basically my body is acting pregnant and producing milk and stopping my ovulate apparatnly this medication lowers the levels so i will ovulate.Im only asking if anyone else has used it if so how long before you becamme pregnant
A: I have thought that prolactin is the hormone that makes your breasts lactate. Its also known as the pregnancy hormone. But putting you on medication to reduce your prolactin might not be a good idea if you are planning pregnancy or are pregnant. Since tyou have decided to wait a year that might be a good idea. wait until your stabilized to try again. if you become pregnant call your doctor immediately.
Q: Has anyone any experience of using Dostinex (a.k.a Cabergoline) to achieve multiple orgasms?
..I've read about this stuff but has anyone actually tried it? in theory, it should work i.e. it suppresses prolactin and induces levels of dopamine. I've read a few reports from people who claim to have had 2 orgasms only a few minutes apart but obviously, it could all be complete moonshine.

Q: anyone on dostinex while pregnant?
My specilist won't let me go off dostinex and i only have a microadanoma, do most people go off of it while pregnant?
A: You should always consult with your doctor on this, but I found the following notes about it:
Cabergoline (Dostinex) has a Pregnancy Risk Factor of "C" (which is a little high, in my opinion). From Rxlist.com - Dopamine agonists in general should not be used in patients with pregnancy unless the potential benefit is judged to outweigh the possible risk.

Q: I'm taking the medicin Dostinex (0.5mg 2/wk) & just found out I'm pregnant.Could 1weeks dose hurt the fetus?
A: Hi there,
I was on warfrin which causes birth defects between 7 to 13 weeks, without knowing I was preg. I have to say I was very lucky and my children are all ok. Well I will have to hold off on the all until next month.
Check out the drug information. Check out the links. From what I can see there is no defects caused by this medication. Talk to a chemist/pharmacist or a doctor if you need more information than these site provide.
I know how worrying this can be. I use to count fingers and toes every scan.
I hope I have helped you.

Q: Dostinex and libido?
I've just started taking Dostinex 1 week ago due to high prolacton level. My sex drive has been very low for three years now since the problem started. Through reading some things on the internet I have gathered this will change with continued usage. Has anyone been through this, and if so was there a significant change in libido, and how long into the treatment was that? Currently I'm taking two 0.25 milligram pills per week.
A: It is not possible to predict what your libido will do. Everyone is different. After three weeks, any immediate change due to the medication should be apparent to you.
Q: Does anyone have experience treating a Prolactinoma during pregnancy?
I had primary amenorrea due to a prolactinoma, and responded to Dostinex/Cabergoline. Then I got pregnant, and was told to stop taking the meds. As a result my prolactin level rose very much during the first two months and I miscarried.
I consulted a fertility org. and they told me they recommend staying on the meds when pregnant until there's a heartbeat from the baby.
Anyone with experience on this?
A: I have had 3 children while having a 6mm prolactinoma. I had a huge problem with dehydration while pregnant...always in LD with IV's. Dehydration can cause you to contact and start labor. I guess I can see how that can happen. All my lil came out healthy. I did have a lot of headaches and now that I am nursing my littlest one I take Tylenol/codeine for the headaches. I took it during and after pregnancy...with no complication. I wish your well
